Message in the Concrete

Message in the Concrete

While walking along, this message in the sidewalk caught my attention. It got me thinking: why put such a message in the concrete? To leave something behind, to have an effect on those to come? It represents a very human search for permanence, I think. And in a way, much of geography is just that: us making an imprint on the land, trying to leave a piece of ourselves behind. It begs another question: who will read the messages engraved upon the earth?
