Open Sky

This is the Charles H. Bell Ruin Courtyard. I’m more interested in its namesake than it; Bell, a president of General Mills, focused on diversification in the company, and he cared deeply for the growth of the community, investing in the arts and preservation of the environment. He fully supported the Mill City Museum, glad to see the site transformed for educational purposes. According to the plaque, Bell was “captivated by this courtyard where the ruin walls have been left open to the sky, and open to the imagination.” This final quote seemed to sum up the area’s current rebirth, with its endless possibilities brought about by visionaries like Bell.
