Stepping UP

Outside the Mill City Museum, I encountered a cement block directly next to the boardwalk. It was quite similar to the mounting block we found Dan standing upon during the walking tour. I deduce this block was meant for a similar purpose-built in the Pedestrian and Horse Car Era-used as a step up for passengers riding a horse-pulled carriage. This photo is characteristic of how the city has been shaped by its past forms of transportation.
