Future: The newly built US Bank stadium is the best example of the future of the downtown area I could think of. Although I wasn’t able to make it closer, the stadium has already sparked a variety of new construction, including the Wells Fargo building, a large park and a pedestrian bridge.
Past: The downtown area was, and continues to be largely shaped by the water ways. The entire milling district was founded in its current location to the proximity of the falls. In more recent years tourist, commercial, and other industries have capitalized on the water as an attraction as well.
Present: Today, much of the downtown area is dominated by tourism. The Guthrie dominates the area, turning a once industrial area into a creative district. The stone arch bridge, once used for transport and industry is now used as a pedestrian bridge for people looking to enjoy the downtown sights.
